IREN Stock Rebounds 7.9% After a 52-Week Low: What the…

IREN stock closed Tuesday at $27.44, up $2.01 or 7.90%, a day after touching a 52-week low of $23.72 during Monday’s session. Volume reached 46.71 million shares against an average of 43.48 million. The bounce ran across the sector, with CoreWeave up 8%, Nebius up 11% and Applied Digital up 10%, so IREN stock moved with its peers rather than on news of its own.

Two days of buying follow a month in which IREN stock fell 40.70%. The company reports fiscal first-quarter results on 5 November, and the funding questions that drove the selloff arrive with them.

Tuesday’s 7.9% Gain Measures 15.7% From Monday’s $23.72 Low

Monday’s intraday low of $23.72 was the lowest IREN stock has traded in a year, and the shares recovered to close that session more than 2% higher at $25.43. Tuesday’s close is 15.7% above the low and 7.90% above Monday’s close, so the headline figure understates the bounce.

IREN stock still trades 29.8% below its 50-day moving average of $39.11 and 38.8% below the 200-day at $44.81, and the two averages crossed bearishly earlier in October. The shares are down 29.66% for the year and 57.78% over twelve months. A near-identical sequence played out nine days ago, when the stock rebounded 6% after a 23% weekly loss and then kept falling. Shares traded at $28.57 in Wednesday pre-market dealing, 4.12% higher again.

Musk, Gartner and Record Lows in Neocloud Bonds

Elon Musk posted on Monday that “200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation,” adding that SpaceX would not buy any of them. The warning reached more than 200 AI cloud firms and knocked CoreWeave, Nebius and IREN lower in pre-market trading. Reuters reported that Nebius bonds maturing in 2034 and CoreWeave bonds due 2033 hit record lows, and that short sellers across the group held at least $6 billion of paper profits. Alberto Gallo of Andromeda Capital summed the trade up as “there is too much debt.”

Gartner had published the structural version of the same argument twelve days earlier, on 14 October. That research says more than 80% of neocloud providers will stop operating independently by 2030, and that AI data center owners need $8.5 trillion of cumulative revenue through 2030 against attributable revenue of no more than $3.6 trillion. The same forecast has already been applied to Nebius and IREN, and it sits alongside CoreWeave’s $99 billion backlog carried on roughly $50 billion of debt.

Investor Takeaway

Tuesday’s 7.9% rise in IREN stock is 15.7% measured from Monday’s $23.72 low, and IREN stock remains 29.8% below its 50-day average of $39.11.

The $7.59bn Debt Figure Comes With $5.90bn of Cash Against It

Sector summaries quote a gross borrowing number for IREN without the other side of the balance sheet. IREN’s FY26 results, filed with the SEC on 27 August, show total borrowings of $7,593.0 million at 30 June against cash and cash equivalents of $5,895.6 million. Net debt was about $1.70 billion, alongside $243.8 million of finance lease liabilities and $1.72 billion of restricted cash.

IREN took in $6,299.6 million of convertible note proceeds during FY26, which is where most of that cash came from, including a $3.0 billion offering of 1.00% notes due 2033 that closed on 14 May. The capped call on that deal was struck against a $55.15 reference price, and IREN stock now trades at half that level and would need to rise 302% to reach the $110.30 cap. The money is raised and the dilution protection is out of the money.

The gross debt figure quoted in sector summaries sits against $5.90bn of cash, leaving net debt near $1.70bn. Source: IREN FY26 results, SEC · Chart: FinanceFeeds

IREN Stock Targets Run From Morningstar’s $37 to an $80.79 Mean

MarketBeat records a consensus “Moderate Buy” with an average target of $80.79, which is 194% above Tuesday’s close, and a debt-to-equity ratio of 1.80. Morningstar cut its own fair value estimate to $37 from $43 in mid-October on borrowing-cost and competition risk, a figure 54% below the consensus mean.

FinanceFeeds’ own statistical scenarios, run from the $24.905 close on 23 October, give a bull case of $30.63 and a bear case of $10.22 by 31 December, with a base case of $15.85. IREN stock has already cleared that base case and sits 10.4% under the bull. A spread this wide across published numbers describes a sell side in the middle of revising, which is the backdrop the results walk into.

What 5 November Has to Settle on Capacity and Funding

IREN reports September-quarter results on Thursday 5 November, with a call at 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Consensus looks for revenue of $229.81 million and a loss of $0.72 a share. FY26 revenue was $707.0 million against a $702.6 million net loss, with AI Cloud Services contributing $128.8 million, up from $16.4 million the year before.

IREN targets roughly 0.3GW of cumulative IT delivery in 2026 and 0.8GW in 2027, announced a 300MW campus at Badajoz in Spain on 21 October for initial operation in 2028, and holds a $9.7 billion AI cloud contract with Microsoft signed in November 2025. Microsoft reports its own September quarter on Wednesday night with capital spending guided above $50 billion, and that commentary reaches IREN stock a week before the company speaks for itself.

Investor Takeaway

The 5 November print lands against consensus of $229.81 million in revenue and a $0.72 loss a share, and it is the first quarter to put a full read on the AI Cloud ramp behind IREN stock.
